Half of his life was spent in the Philippines, moving to America in 1995 where he is now residing. He has been a small business owner since 2001 and started his privately-owned PT outpatient clinic with a partner in 2004. He has since owned his own practice since 2009 and has rebranded his practice to better serve the growing population and answer the call to action in regard to falling by focusing on fall prevention in the community. In his spare time, he likes to read, catch up with good movies, ride bikes, and travel to different parts of the world to try exotic foods and learn different healing arts with his two boys, daughter, and his wife.

Stewart received his Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Cebu Doctors’ University, in the Philippines and will be completing his Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota. Mr. Ong received a scholarship during his undergraduate schooling and was awarded the highest distinction— the award for Academic Excellence—in the history of his college.

His first job started even before he graduated as a PT working under the license of a physiatrist. Through this job, Stewart was able to see his own caseload of clients in the Philippines before he was recruited to come over to America. In Oklahoma, where his first assignment was as a traveling PT, he was able to advance to become the lead therapist in a 544-bed acute hospital while heading the wound care department of the largest hospital in Lawton, Oklahoma. He was also recruited to see the daily operations of the entire acute care including the swing bed and wound care department thereafter. He has experience in LTC, home health PT, school-based program, and in POPTs.

Mr. Ong is committed to supporting and enriching physical therapy as a profession, as a member of the Arkansas Physical Therapy Association, and as a member of the American Physical Therapy Association.
